WATCH THAT FIRST STEP— IT’S A POKEY-DOOZY

In case you’ve been living under a rock this month, there’s a new craze out there that’s sweeping the nation and it’s all about that crazy game from the 90s called Pokémon. That’s right, that once popular game and character is back in a new mobile app that has thousands of people across the nation taking their smartphones out into the great outdoors to track and capture hundreds of odd little creatures.

Everyone from six and up are on the hunt—kids, moms, dads, and whoever else has a smartphone—in one of the biggest scavenger hunts ever created.

However, according to news reports all over, the game is getting a lot of people into trouble—and in many different ways. Because everyone is running around with their eyes on their phones, they are falling and banging into things wherever they go as they look for all the critters in their neighborhoods and elsewhere. Some have sprained their ankles and broken a few bones, others have walked right into walls, trees, and even other people! And just the other day, two men fell right off a cliff in San Diego.

According to USA Today:

“Two men suffered moderate injuries when they tumbled off a seaside cliff north of San Diego while reportedly playing Pokemon Go, fire officials said Thursday.

The pair fell after climbing a fence and disregarding warning signs in order to get on the bluff in Encinitas, Calif., said Fire Marshal Anita Pupping.”

Additionally, there have been a host of other incidents surrounding the summer phenomenon. Last week, a dead body was found floating in a river by a woman in Wyoming. Numerous players are being set upon by thieves as they go searching for Pokemon characters—with a couple of teens having their iPhones robbed during their evening search.  Then there’s also the general disruption as people search for creatures in inappropriate places and times—like in churches, graveyards, and on other people’s private property. Leaving you thinking, "Is there spy equipment for cell phone?"

So while it’s all well and good that a spy on a cell phone for free from computer with a one time subscription actually has smartphone-addicted people being mobile, it’s best to lift your eyes up every now and then so that you’re aware of your surroundings. It’s also a really good idea that parents install one of those popular spy gadgets cell phones surveillance apps on their kids’ phones so that they can check up on them and make sure they are safe and sound at all times … especially when on the Poke-y prowl.
